What a week it's been. Actually, last week was one of the busiest I've had in a long time. Even though I've not been blogging lately like I used to, it's certainly NOT because I have nothing to blog about; I have plenty! Maybe it's a good thing that I haven't been writing here; I'd be doing a lot of venting. Of course, like most things, as time passes, things don't seem to be as bad as they did when they first happened.

IF I have any friends and family that still come visit me here, thanks! I treasure you! =)

Ok, work has been a bit of a struggle lately; the boss is very anal about the stupidest, most trivial things! Last Thursday, the busiest day of the week for me, I was copying the bulletin and, as usual, we had an insert to put in. Well, the day before, she had gone to the office store to buy purple paper (the color for Lent here in the Catholic church), and I thought she wanted me to use it for worship aids for the next couple of weeks so I copied the bulletin insert in white paper. Big whoopee deal, right??? WRONG! She came into the copy room (The two wonderful ladies that come every week to fold bulletins for me were sitting there doing their work.) and JUST starting going off on me! "May I ask why, after making a special trip to the office store yesterday, are you copying this with white paper?" I said, "Oh, I don't know; I thought you wanted that purple paper for the worship aids." "No, remember? We had a conversation about it and I thought I made it clear that I wanted the bulletin copied in purple. Besides, this is not an insert, it is THE bulletin." I was speechless. I couldn't even believe she was making such a big deal about this little thing. I wanted to go off on her the way she had to me, but of course I have respect for the fact that she is my boss and I need my job too much to be written up for insubordination, so I kept my mouth shut. PLUS, there was NO WAY I was going to let her see that she had upset me. I apologized AGAIN for copying the stupid paper in the wrong color (as if anyone really cares!) and I went about doing my work. I get to my desk to finish the monthly calendar and all the while, she's standing over my shoulder watching me! I'm thinking, can't you just leave me alone??? I had all I could do to keep my mouth shut and to keep the tears from escaping. (Tears of anger, mostly.) Well, I finished my calendar (successfully, I might add), and she left. Thank goodness she had somewhere she needed to be that afternoon. The minute she left, I walked into the copy room where the my two helpers were working diligently (probably to get the heck out of here before any more hell broke loose) and they just looked at me and shook their heads. Now mind you, these ladies are in their late 70's/early 80's and are VERY kind people. As soon as I looked at them, I couldn't help it, and I just let it all out. I proceeded to let them know how frustrated I'd been this past week and today was just the "icing on the cake." They both said they couldn't believe, first of all, that she had made such a big deal about the color of paper I used to copy the INSERT. They were very upset about the whole thing. "And furthermore," the one lady exclaimed, "she should have NEVER called you on that in front of us!" SO so true, don't you think??? Needless to say, my mood that day went from good to bad in less than 3 seconds. The one lady that witnessed the scene even told me that if that keeps up, she will not be coming in to help anymore. She said, "You know, we used to look forward to coming in here and helping you because we always had fun. Now, it's not fun anymore and I don't need to see her treating you like that." SO, that was my Thursday at work. Oh yeah, then I had to go clean a house after I left work and immediately afterward, came home and finished my liturgical minister schedule (that also had to be out for the weekend), and run it back to work to copy it. I also had to do a couple of other miscellaneous things that I didn't have time to do while I was "on the clock." I finally got home for good around 9:30 p.m. and it never felt so good to be done with work for the day.

SO, aren't you glad I haven't been writing?? =) Can you imagine if I'd have blogged about that last week??

Anyway, it's a beautiful day and the sun is shining; we're even supposed to get temps in the mid-50's this afternoon. Yeah!!! Spring IS on it's way!

Oh yes, I cannot leave without sharing some GOOD news: I have a pocket door!!! Yippee! I am so excited! My husband knocked out a wall over the weekend and installed a pocket door for me!!! I feel special. And I even mudded some drywall the other night. It's not an easy job, let me tell you, but I really wanted to try it, so I did. The corners are the biggest challenge. We still have lots of sanding to do, but the rooms are really coming together. It's a much bigger job to re-do existing rooms than doing brand new construction. I'm still taking progress pictures and I'm going to have one helluva photo album when this is all done.

Ok, it's back to work I go! Have a wonderful day and thanks for reading this. I'm going to have a good day, and we're going to buy more drywall this afternoon so we can finish the closet my husband started building. See ya! =)

Oh, before you go, feel free to check out my favorite five photos for the newest photo meme, Favorite Five! =) And why don't you challenge yourself to play? It's never too late to post your pics!

Ok, I lied; I didn't get my Favorite Five up yet... But it wasn't entirely my fault. My internet hasn't been working properly. Since we started our remodeling project, we've had the antenna stuck to a 2x4 board into the ground. This worked fine for a while, and as long as my computer was hooked right up to the modem. Well when we moved my computer into my new computer room (on the opposite side of the house), I've had to go wireless, which shouldn't be a problem, but the signal for the internet on my computer has been either low, very low, or NO signal. My internet service provider was supposed to come out this morning to move the antenna, etc. to its permanent location (on the same side of the house where my computer resides). They surprised us by coming out yesterday afternoon! Yay! Now I have an excellent signal and all is well again. I've got a busy housecleaning load this week, and I'm currently working on printing 200 wedding invitations for someone, but I hope to post my photos some evening in the near future.

I don't know if my mom blogged about this yet or not, but hop on over to her blog and wish her fast healing for her foot, which she broke in two places yesterday.

Well it's time to start my work day so I better go. Have an excellent day!! =)

feeling... ...for lots of reasons today.

Last night we went to see Donald Fagan (from Steely Dan) at the Detroit Opera House. My stepson gave my husband 2 tickets for his birthday. It was worth rearranging my weekly housecleaning schedule to be able to go see him. Also, that place is just beautiful inside. It reminds me a lot of The Temple Theatre here in Saginaw.

Well, today is St. Patrick's Day and I wanted to be sure to wish all you Irish people out there a Happy St. Patrick's Day!! (Isn't everyone Irish today???) =)

Take care and enjoy your weekend! =) Oh yes, and if you are interested in participating in Favorite Five, there's still time! I haven't posted my 5 photos yet, but I'll be sure to do that before the end of the day!

Question of the Day!

Would you stop if you hit someone's dog or cat with your car?

Why do I ask you this? Because this morning on my way to work, on my road (where people constantly exceed the speed limit of 55), there was this poor dog in the road that had just been hit by a car. I won't tell you how I could tell he had just been hit. It broke my heart. I don't expect people to cause themselves to fly through their windshield when they see an animal in the road by slamming on their brakes, and I'm giving this driver the benefit of the doubt and I'm guessing he/she was unable to avoid the animal, BUT, at least stop and tell the owners that you hit their pet.

This past weekend we had spring-like weather and today there is snow on the ground. The winds have been gusting up to 53 mph and will continue to do so (according to our weather experts) until late this afternoon. We have flood warnings all around this area..... Ahhh, spring in Michigan.

You have a wonderful week! =)

Since I haven't been around in so long here, I'm not going to talk about all the things that have been going on; just some... (Lucky you, eh?) =)

We're currently working on fixing all the cracks in the ceilings in the 'old' part of the house and my husband is doing a grand job! (Did I say "we?" Oh, I meant him...) I've just been moving things out of the rooms so he can get to where he needs to get. I guess the next step will be to buy some drywall and start putting that up. We have hardwood floors throughout the old part of the house and I think the only room we're going to restore the floor in is the old living room (which will become a hobby/sitting/reading room). The floor is in decent condition and we thought it would be nice to have one room with a hardwood floor. We'll just throw a big area rug over it so it won't be so cold.

We've had spring-like weather these past couple of days and it's suppposed to continue into the weekend. Just pray we don't get a lot of rain! The snow is all melting and we certainly don't need any rain to add to the soaked ground. Looks like spring IS on its way!

Work is going well; I'm having a bit of difficulty adjusting to my new boss's ways. She's not your typical perfectionist; she is an EXTREME perfectionist and I believe she needs to learn to let some things go and trust her employees to do what they get paid to do (without her constant assistance). I get along with her just fine, I just need to get over the fact that she's extremely anal about details, and they're not always important, like what kind of graphics to put on a monthly calendar; things like that. I'll adjust, I know.

I'm hoping to update my blogroll and some other little things here this weekend. I hope I get a chance. I won't even think about changing colors, etc. until summer. By then we should be pretty near the end of our remodel project and I can get back to what I like doing! =)

Have a great weekend; and hey, go wish my mom a Happy Birthday tomorrow, March 11, if you get a chance.
