Yesterday was a very good day! We enjoyed dinner with some members of my family and watched the MSU vs. UofK game; MSU won!!! Off to the Final Four!! Yay!! The whole family was into that game, which went into double overtime, and as a result, extended our visit about an hour. It's all good...

Per Sherle, there will be another 26 Things on April 1. Get your cameras ready, my friends!! I'm looking forward to it. We'll be leaving in a few minutes to meet Windy at the mall so we can spend some quality shopping time together. When we get home, I'm taking my Dad's advice, and getting my camera and my camera manual out so I can experiment with some of the settings (some of which I'm sure I've never used). I will have a pencil and paper with me so I can keep track of what I've done.

Enjoy your Monday, everyone, and if you're looking for something to blog about, or if you just want to make me happy, go to Monday Madness and take the challenge! I'll be around to visit all my MM participants later in the day. Have a good one!! =)

It's Friday!! Woo Hoo! The beginning of a 4-day weekend! Looks like spring is really on its way too; we're supposed to have temps in the mid-50's by the middle of next week.

It's been one long, hard week. With it being Holy Week, working for the church, the days just seem to run into each other. Then, to top it off, one of our parishioners (and a friend of ours) passed away Monday afternoon. The funeral was yesterday. And, in just one short month, our boss will be leaving us. Lots of things going on in my head.....

This weekend I plan to relax and enjoy. I believe we'll be going to my parents' house on Sunday and I hope to see other family there as well.

I've got a bit of cleaning to do, so I'm off. I hope everyone has a blessed weekend!!

ENOUGH Already!!

I just realized that the last few times I've blogged, I sounded like I had nothing good to say; everything that came out of my mouth was negative. SORRY! I'm really not a negative person. It's just that this winter has been THE longest season ever!! (Excuses, excuses, eh?)

Yesterday after coming home from church and enjoying a delectable breakfast, my daughter and I went shopping. We went to Barnes & Noble, Media Play, Circuit City, and Best Buy. After a little over 2 hours of fun shopping (mostly window...) we decided there was nowhere else we wanted to go so we started on our way home. Once we got in the house and we looked in our bags, we couldn't believe how little we had bought. But it's not the spending of money that brings us joy; it's the spending of TIME together. It was a lot of fun and I think we'll do that on a semi-regular basis just to enjoy each other's company.

Now I figure I'll play last week's Monday Madness....

1. I wish I had more time to spend doing things I enjoy.
2. I usually think about changing my blog layout when I get bored with the current look. (Or when I get a really wonderful idea for something fun.)
3. If more people would be genuine, the world would be a better place.
4. I really should
stop worrying more often.
5. The weather we're having right now is
gloomy but not too cold.
6. When it's time to plant a garden, I'd like to plant jalepeno peppers, onions, tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, and green beans.
7. When I'm running late, I sometimes forget to grab my lunch for work.
8. When I can't think of anything to blog about, I usually try to think of something to say, but usually end up not blogging.

Now I'm going to spend some time making calendars and teddy bear moods (see links to the right if interested). It makes me happy!! First though.....

Let's see; what's been happening since last time I blogged? Well, Thursday morning our staff met with the woman who is taking our boss's place for the 2 months before the permanent woman comes in around mid-July. It was a good meeting. I don't see any problems or personality clashes, so that 2 months should go pretty smoothly. I'm not sure when we meet the nun that's going to be our pastoral administrator, but until July, she'll be staying in the parish she's currently at, so it may be close to the end of the fiscal year.

To my seester: Ooops! It wasn't the plan to go 5 more days before blogging again; just happened that way. This weekend's been a bit busy. And to top it off, by the time I was ready to spend some time on the internet yesterday we discovered our modem was down again. When it finally came back on (about 6 hours later), I didn't feel like it anymore. I know; I sound like a whiny thing, but if this crap happened when I was at work during the week, instead of on the weekend, maybe I wouldn't even be mentioning it. I am still keeping track of when we're down though, so I can email the company and ask for a discount.

I have to post questions for Monday Madness now. I have NO idea what to ask and no one has offered any suggestions in a while so I must go rack my brain! =)

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It's the first day of spring here so I don't expect to see ANY MORE snow!!!

It's been almost 5 days since I last blogged. Wow, I feel like I'm going to confession. For some reason I haven't been spending all that much time on the computer this week. I guess other things have been requiring my time.

It looks foggy outside. How odd, since it just got done snowing not too long ago, and it looks like there's ice on the tree branches. Hmmmmm.......possible photo op in the a.m. (Hmmmmmmm.....I wonder if our local news will show my photo if I send them another one; maybe not worth the effort.)

For everyone who is Irish (and you know we ALL are on St. Patrick's Day, right?) Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

At what point does "protecting" someone do them more harm than good? I believe we should protect those we care for, to a certain extent. BUT, I also think we need to be careful not to be deceptive in the process. Let me just say this: I don't think keeping someone employed out of mere compassion is a good idea. If they're not doing their job, there needs to be some consequences. Maybe I'll elaborate on this subject at a later date....maybe not. For now, I just invite you to share your thoughts if you have any.

It seems like a long week; I'm not sure why. Could it be because for the past two weeks I've had at least one day off? And I actually have a full work-week this week? Could it be the weather? This freezing cold weather?? Well, I am grateful to see the sun come up before we leave our house in the morning. That's one sign that spring truly is on its way; now if we could just bring those temperatures up a bit! =)

I have 6 java clocks made so far if you want to go check them out. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll see the links to the other 5. If you do decide to use one, and you find that your date and/or time is not displayed where it should be, please email me because I actually did experience that very problem and I know how to fix it. Ok?

I'm feeling a bit tired for some reason, so I'm going to read for a little while, then probably just go to sleep. Just one more thing on my mind, and that is, I wonder why our local news didn't show my storm snapshot yet........ I'm bummed. I thought it was an excellent photo. Oh well, maybe I'll send them another one. Persistence is good, right??

Ya gotta love those guestbooks. Most people who take the time to sign them are very kind and if only they'd leave a link back to their site, I'd visit almost every single one of them. BUT, there's those few people who actually take the time to sign someone's guest book just to say something nasty. What makes these people do things like that? Why spend the time to bother?? Thank goodness it takes no more than a few seconds to delete a guestbook entry.......I've deleted 2 in the past 3 days. To those of you who have something kind to say, thank you. Also, for those who may not know that Otto is NOT my real name, I'm telling you now. And even if it were, would you stop coming to my site? Who are we to judge others???? If my name was Otto, and I wanted my sites to be full of flowery, feminine images, what's wrong with that??? Some people really need to GET A LIFE!!! =) (I hope I'm not sorry for writing this in the future, but y'all know me; and I just have to say what's on my mind...) Thanks to all my readers who come back time after time and not judge what I have to say and how I put my site together. It's my site and I'll make it look any way I want, thank you very much. *I feel so much better*

Have a marvelous Monday evening, everyone!! =)

To end this post on a positive note......thought I'd share this with you:

A vocabulary that eliminates "don't" and "can't" will be free to see surprising numbers of "do" and "can."

Since this week's Monday Madness questions are already posted, I thought I'd answer last week's first....

1. What time is it right now? 11:45 p.m.
2. What are you usually doing at this time on any given day? I'm usually doing something on my computer, or reading a book.
3. Is there a day of the week that time seems to fly by faster than the other days? I think Sundays.
4. If you could make ONE hour of each day twice as long, which hour of the day would you choose? Probably the last hour I'm awake each evening.
5. If you could make one DAY of the week twice as long, which day would you choose? Saturday.
6. If you could make one hour and/or one day HALF as long, which time of the day, and which day of the week would you choose? I would make the hour between 2:30 and 3:30 half as long, every Thursday. But not the whole day Thursday; just that one hour.
7. Do you agree with the following statement? "The older you get, the faster time goes by." I do.
8. What do you usually do during your "down time?" Make graphics, figure out how to do different things with my websites, read, cross stitch, and blog and blog surf.
9. What one thing do you spend more time doing each day than anything else? I guess that would have to be sleeping, since on any given day I can't say that I spend more time on my computer or working, or any other activity.

I took pictures this morning of the hoarfrost on our trees; it was really beautiful outside! Wanna see?? =)

Also, my latest project I've been working on may be viewed here. I'm currently working on more styles so don't worry; you won't be limited to putting little bears on your site if you're not into bears. I love Saturdays!!

I found out this week that my boss will be leaving at the end of April. Maybe you remember me mentioning her being nominated for the position of 'visitatrix' or the leader of her province. Three other sisters in her province were also nominated. The final voting took place sometime in February and she received notice last Thursday (immediately before leaving for the installation of our new bishop) that she had been chosen. She wasn't allowed to share this news with anyone until all the sisters were notified. She received a fax on Monday evening giving her the go-ahead to start telling people. She called me on Tuesday morning and gave me the news. I wasn't expecting to hear this news but on the other hand, I guess I wasn't surprised either. This week's been a bit hard on all of us at St. John's and I can only pray that "things happen for a reason." She will be missed.

In other news: the weather outside is frightful! Snow, snow, and more snow! The last time I drove my car was on Monday. If I have to go anywhere tomorrow I'll be driving because for right now the roads out here are good. BUT, I understand we have a chance for more snow from Sunday through Wednesday again. Joy of joys....... where is spring???

Other than that, life is good. I'm trying to keep a smile on my face and keep positive thoughts in my head. I like this following quote, so thought I'd share it with you all...

"Playing is essential to a full life. Each day should contain some time to participate in a carefree activity for no reason at all except that it's fun."
