Moving is such a big job! I have moved more than anyone ever should in a lifetime. My advice to you.... Find a good place to live, make it a nice home, and stay there! I have had good reason to move, but I do believe this one will be my last for a long time. Expected date of departure: Tuesday, November 30. My original plan was to be moved out of here by Sunday but there's no way that's going to happen now. I had planned to take Wednesday and Thursday off from work, but now I think I have to ask my boss for Tuesday and Thursday. Well of course I'll HAVE to be off Tuesday if I plan to move, don't you think? Unless.....any of you wants to move FOR me!! =)
Hopefully we'll be hooked up to the internet by Wednesday afternoon. That's when I've made the appointment for the guy to come out and check to see if we'll get the signal, and since we live right down the road from the tower, I don't see that as a problem. Oh, I have so much to do yet! I have to change my address with the post office, get 'change of address' postcards (or whatever you call them) and send those to any magazine subscriptions we have, cancel my telephone, cancel the cable, change the name on the utility bill and water bill, and finish PACKING! I did find some time this weekend to just sit and relax though; probably why the packing process is slow. Now we just have to pray for no rain on Tuesday, because if memory serves me correctly, I think it was raining last time I moved and believe me, it's no fun!
There's a few things I have to update before I go or else it might be Christmas before I get to do it, and one of those is to take the 'Happy Halloween' off my homepage. Looks like I've been ignoring that site a bit! I'm also going to change the colors here and add a little touch of Christmas; not much, but a touch. SO, I best be on my way! I have exactly 2 days to pack all this in.....May you all have a glorious Sunday!! And know that even though you may not see me around, I'll be thinking of ya! =)
Update on the update of my blog: I'm not real sure about this; I was going blind reading it when it was all that bright gold. I changed the background color of my columns.....maybe I'll change the whole background.

I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! As I said before, I have much to be thankful for........my daughter and the wonderful person she is growing up to be; my parents and their health, and their friendship; my siblings, all of whom I can call my friends as well as my family; my spouse who has never really drifted as far as I thought at one time, and who has realized that I am an equal, and who has come to respect me as one, and who I've become good friend with in the past seven years; my friends, all of them, who let me be me and still like me anyway; that includes all my online friends too; my health, and last but not least (and not really last either; there is so much more I'm thankful for), my LIFE! Oh, and my cats are back to 'normal' now; I'm thankful for that too! Bless you all, and let's celebrate this day even if you don't really 'celebrate' it where you live.......it's good to always keep in mind those things that really matter to us, don't you think?

400th Post
I don't even know exactly when I started my original blog but apparently this is my 400th post on this one. Aren't YOU lucky???
I want to thank everyone who left me comments and suggestions regarding my cats. If you're wondering what has happpened with them, they seem to be getting along alright now. They are still very cautious of each other, but at least they're not hissing and growling constantly. I was about ready to throw them both out; of course I could never do that, but with us moving soon and all the packing that goes along with it, the last thing I wanted to spend any energy on was worrying about how my cats were getting along. Speaking of moving, I'm thinking I may not be around much these next couple of weeks because I have SO much to do yet. Just know that I'll be back around as soon as we're settled in.
Tomorrow is my last day of work this week and I am so happy! 4-day weekends should happen more often!! Don't you think? =)
Have a blessed Thanksgiving (if you celebrate it now). If you've already celebrated Thankgiving, or if you don't celebrate it, have a blessed weekend! I, for one, have much to be thankful for! Enjoy!!! =)

Psycho Cats
Does anyone know what we should do? Our 2 cats got into a brawl early yesterday afternoon and they're still not over it. How did it all start? We were sitting at the kitchen table after eating a late breakfast after church, and Kringle was in the kitchen window. She hopped onto the table and Alex 'shoood' her off. She walked into the living room, Alex followed her, and she attacked her leg, then her wrist. THEN the fight broke out between the 2 cats. By this time Alex was back in the kitchen and all we could hear was the cats going after each other. I've never heard these 2 cats go at it like this before so we walked into the living room and all we could see was fur flying everywhere. I really thought one of them was going to end up severely injured. The fight went on for quite some time; I've never seen anything like it, at least with 2 cats who have lived together for years. The scarey thing was that neither cat would let us near them either. They'd hiss at us and the one would attack if we got anywhere near her. Now, almost 24 hours later, they are still 'stalking' each other. All they do is sit there as if they're waiting for the other to make just one wrong move. It's quite disturbing. At least they're not trying to attack US anymore, but I can't believe it's gone on as long as it has. Do you think they'll ever get along again? Have you ever experienced this before? I'd appreciate any comments!
More later.......meanwhile, have a marvelous Monday!! =)

I just tried to visit one of my friends who has a blog at Blog-City and apparently they are down for maintenance; "A hacker has affected a number of blogs." Hmmmmmmmm, those people REALLY should get a life! or a job! or something!!
I've got quite a busy day today, but I expect I'll be back here to blog something 'worthy' later this evening....we can only hope, eh? Meanwhile, all have a spectacular Saturday!! =)

First, I wanted to clear something up: I'm not participating in the NaNoWriMo; oh my goodness! I couldn't write a novel if my life depended on it! But I wanted to cheer those I know who are participating in it, on.
Just a little something to think about... "If there is a solution, there's no need to worry, and if there is no solution, there's no use in worrying." Well, at least I need to keep that in mind. I'm a bit of a worrier and even though I know that worrying does not change things one way or the other (because it's not an action; it's a REaction!), I still do it. So I'll keep that thought in mind today.
It's off to work I go! Have a terrific Thursday!! =)

November is fast slipping away; before we know it Christmas will be here and we'll be 'celebrating' a new calendar year. I think I need to slow down and enjoy life a little more! Don't we all?
I thought it would be a great idea to feature some of our fellow bloggers out there that are participating in the NaNoWrimo project this year; they are all working on writing a novel in the month of November. GO NANOWRIMOS!!!! And here are just a few that I know of:

Something really weird is going on. I went to my homepage and when I clicked on my guestbook, the background was a really bright red. I didn't have it a bright red; it matched the colors of my homepage. THEN, I noticed the title said, "Welcome to Bumps and Babies Guestbook." But all the entries there are ones from my own guestbook. Do you think that place is having issues??? One thing I know I don't like about that guestbook place (can't provide the link right now) is it leaves the guest no option to put the url to their website. Not good. I like to VISIT the people who visit me, and especially the ones who leave me comments! SO, I might be looking for another free guestbook sometime soon. If you have any suggestions, please let me know! Thank you! I'm going to bed now. Oh oh; I've stayed up too late again! Sweet dreams, my friends and family!! =)
P.S. Blogger isn't behaving very nicely lately either. Let's hope things improve soon?

Just wondering.....
Did anyone else hear on the news this morning that Yahoo is improving their email again?? We're supposed to be getting 250 MB of space for free!! I haven't gotten a message from Yahoo regarding this yet, so I just wondered if anyone else had heard anything. Personally I think 100 MB is plenty, but hey, I'm not going to argue!
Things are getting hectic around here now; I've been filling up boxes as I get them, going through everything before I pack to 'weed out' the junk and now I have 4 garbage bags of junk to throw out. It's amazing what we save because we think we may NEED it one day. And I'm not known for saving a lot of junk; space has always been an issue.
I was going to bake some cookies last night until I realized I had no baking powder (or is it soda??) so I bought both today. Me and my daughter will be 'bonding' while making cookies. Oatmeal chocolate chip!! I'll let you know how they turn out. As you may guess, I'm no Betty Crocker and baking isn't one of my better talents so this should be fun.
I'm off to make dinner now; take care, all!!
Pssst!! Photo Time is BACK!!! Yay, Mom!! I've got my picture all picked out. All I have to do now is get 'Hello' back so I can post it! AND update my photo blog some.... =)
I found this quiz interesting, but not accurate (in my opinion.) Of course it all depends on what you think a Gemini is supposed to be like... Oh yeah, I swiped it from Cindy's
You are 47% Gemini

It's not quite done, but please feel free to take a peek at my moody bears. You're more than welcome (and encouraged!) to use them on your blog or wherever you'd like; just please link them back to me....
More blogging tomorrow. Until then, peace to you all!! =)

(continued from last story...)
I walked away from my computer for about 2 hours, got some 'productive' things done around the house, soon got bored with THAT, and came back to my project. I thought about using the 'automatic save' feature but with psp I make so many things and some of them I merge all layers and want to unmerge them when I'm done, and if I used that feature my computer would automatically save every 5 minutes. I can't have that; it might save while my layers are merged, then I'd be S.O.L!!!
Anyway, I started from scratch again and before I knew it (3 hours later), I had 12 little mood thingies done! My bear's name is Obie. Here is how I'm feeling now: (and a little sneak preview of my mood bears.....)
How many times do we have to be reminded to save, save, save, as often as you change something????? Apparently I must be reminded daily....... I had 6 (count them; SIX) little bears done for my new mood thing I'm working on and guess what happened??? My electricity shut off. My computer shut down. My computer restarted. My six little bears were gone; gone forever. Do you know how long it took me to create them? Literally hours, and I wasn't even smart enough to save as I went along. There goes my good mood. I'll re-create them for sure, but now I'm not in the mood to. Guess I'll go make other use of my time now and come back to that project later. How dumb could I be????? I swear this time I've learned my lesson. I put too much work into those little things just to have them disappear right before my eyes because I was dumb! I'm outta here.....I'll come back later and show you what I was working on; hopefully sometime this weekend I'll have them available for you to use if you're interested. Now I have to make one that represents 'angry.' =(
I missed 'Survivor' tonight; we had tickets to see Saginaw On Stage at the Temple Theatre, which started at 7:00 p.m. I left the house and didn't remember to set my VCR to record, my kid wasn't home to record it, so I called my parents. No one home........ I hope they got the message. If not, oh well. The concert was wonderful. They had everything from rock, to jazz, to blues, to polka, and even some celtic music. Some of those musicians are so talented it makes me wonder why they've not made it 'big.'
More about the evening on my next post. I'm off to bed! Please, no hints about who got booted off 'Survivor' at least until I find out if there's a tape waiting for me somewhere. =)

I think I'm going to change the colors just a bit (or more) here. I've been playing around with psp and I just haven't made up my mind yet.....I do appreciate your input, my friends! I still think it looks kind of blah-zee! (How DO you spell that word, anyway??? prounounced 'blah-zay')
Ok, I was just getting ready to log off for the evening when I discovered this interesting little quiz over at Shirl's and I had to take it. With that, I bid you goodnight! =)
You Are From Neptune |
![]() You are dreamy and mystical, with a natural psychic ability. You love music, poetry, dance, and (most of all) the open sea. Your soul is filled with possibilities, and your heart overflows with compassion. You can be in a room full of friendly people and feel all alone. If you don't get carried away with one idea, your spiritual nature will see you through anything. |

I can't seem to get the background color exactly right; must be because I saved all my little images as gifs and it distorts the color somewhat. I'll have to play around with it a bit more tomorrow. And now that I look at this as a 'whole' I'm thinking it looks too blah. I'm not in a blah mood or anything, I just wanted to change from the fall look a bit since winter is really here already. Oh, who knows; it may look totally different in a day or two.
It was 6:00 p.m. and I thought it was more like 8:30 p.m. tonight because it was so dark outside already. I better get used to it because the darkness will be coming earlier and earlier as winter sets in. Such is life......
I think I'll play Monday Madness now; something I've not done in a few weeks. Here goes:
Name 3 (or more, or less!) things...
1. ...you cannot live without. air, water, food
2. ...you CAN live without, but cannot seem to part with. my computer, my car, and my other half (only the family might appreciate this one!)
3. ...you wish to accomplish this COMING week. fix this blog, pack some stuff (yeah, we're moving soon), take pop cans back to the store (major goals, eh?)
4. ...you have accomplished this PAST week. had a restful weekend, ironing, started a new layout
5. ...on your holiday (or non-holiday) 'wish list.' another one of those cool little mini drives that you just plug into your USB port (they're really cool! and SO small!), a new printer, and I'll have to think about this last one
6. ...you would like to change about yourself. the way I worry so much, my judgmental ways, my lack of patience
7. ...you like about yourself. This is never easy.......how I get along with others, I think I'm generous, my energy
8. ...you should be doing right now instead of what you ARE doing. sleeping, doing tonight's dishes, ironing more
9. ...in your life that could use a little more organization. IN my life??? My life!! =) No really, all the little notes I have scattered everywhere with passwords, codes, hex colors, and the like; I really should get them all on this computer! And there's other things just as unorganized, so I have lots to work on!
I hope your week got off to a good start! Let's make it a good one, and tomorrow I'll be linking all my friends who are participating in the NaNoWriMo project (look for that link tomorrow as well). I can't even imagine writing a 50,000 word novel in one month. Heck, I couldn't write a novel if my life depended on it! Tomorrow we will cheer on all our fellow bloggers who have taken on this great challenge!!
Goodnight! =)

Maybe I should wait until Monday to post this question over at my meme, but I was just thinking about it right now.....
Commercials: What do you think about children doing commercials? I don't mean for diapers or baby products either; obviously they are the best candidates for that job. I've seen hospitals, insurance companies, real estate agents, and all kinds of different places being promoted by children. Any thoughts?
I haven't felt very creative lately. I've been wanting to update some of my sites and change the look on some, but when I sit down at the computer lately, all I seem to want to do is play these silly games. I do have a pretty empty weekend coming up though, so maybe I'll feel like creating something by tomorrow morning. I haven't been around to very many blogs lately either; sorry! I do appreciate all your kind words here and I do think I'll take some time to blog-hop this evening.
No new 'haps' around here so I won't ramble any longer. Y'all enjoy your Friday evening and get some rest and relaxation in this weekend!! =)
(I tried to post this at 5:14 p.m. It's now 7:04 p.m.) *crossing fingers*

Just a short post before I log off for the evening. I found this quiz over at Bev's and I thought it was interesting enough (even though I'm NOT!!) to share with you all.....

My mom's knee replacement surgery went well. I was able to get up there and visit her last night and she is doing fine. Thank you, Shirl and Logtar for your prayers, and thanks to anyone else who said a prayer as well. My mom will begin her "joint camp" today and start moving that leg. She is supposed to be coming home on Thursday. I know she'll do fine and recover quickly; she's a strong lady!
It was raining cats and dogs for most of the afternoon and into the evening yesterday and even though I have "non-glare" glasses (which, by the way, I paid extra for!), the glare at night in the rain still bothers me. Thank goodness there wasn't that much road construction on the highways I travelled because I find it difficult to see the lines on the road. I only had to go through one "lane switch" and of course I slowed right down and by the time I reached that area there wasn't that much traffic on the highway so I wasn't p*ssing anyone off. (I'm such a wimp!)
Today is election day, so if you're in the USA, please please please get out there and vote!! And to everyone; have a terrific Tuesday!! =)
